kenzo spring/summer 2011

i’m not usually a fan of many prints on garments but i really love kenzo’s spring/summer 2011 collection. i’m much more of a winter person and usually stick to neutral colours but i love the layering in this collection and the prints and colours work beautifully together.

sorry about the amount of photos – this was me narrowing it down to my ‘favourite few’. also the kenzo autumn/winter 2011/12 collection is fantastic!

here are Just a few inspiration pages i’ve made for my uni trend book project. photographs of the surma/mursi tribes are taken by hans silvester. the rest of the images are materials collected by me.

here are just a couple of slides from our first group presentation. we were asked to come up with a trend book and concept. here is what we did…

the inspiration came from different cultures such as morocco and the souks we found whilst researching. we wanted to keep the colours warm and steer away from the conventional neutral colours we usually go for during winter.

i love the idea of using the vibrant, warm colours because i usually keep to a similar palette during my projects but this has allowed me to experiment a little more and i’ve really enjoyed doing something a little different as opposed to sticking to the usual colours. i think i’ll definately keep this in my individual trend book and fill it with colour!
